On September 9, Apple unveiled its new generation of flagship smartphones: the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the first foldable iPhone in the company’s history, named iPhone Duo. The presentation focused on a new camera system, the A20 Pro chip, and a completely new foldable form factor for Apple.
The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max feature a 48MP Fusion main camera with a variable aperture. Users can manually adjust aperture, shutter speed, and white balance through new professional camera controls. Performance is powered by the 2nm A20 Pro chip with a 7-core GPU and a new cooling system. According to Apple, graphics performance has increased by up to 40% compared with the A19 Pro.
The flagship models are available in four colors: Black, Silver, Glacier, and the new Burgundy. The iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at $1,299. Apple will open pre-orders on September 12, with the first devices going on sale on September 18.
The main highlight of the event was the iPhone Duo, Apple’s first foldable smartphone. When closed, the device features a 5.4-inch display. When unfolded, it transforms into an iPhone with a 7.6-inch screen, the largest ever used in an iPhone. The body is crafted from mirror-polished Grade 5 titanium, while the inner display features a special nano-texture coating designed to reduce glare and make the fold line less visible.
The iPhone Duo is also powered by the A20 Pro and features two 48MP main cameras. Its foldable design introduces new photography scenarios and full Split View support for working with two apps simultaneously. Apple Pencil support will be added at a later stage.
Caviar is already accepting pre-orders for the new iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and foldable iPhone Duo. Customers can reserve the latest models in advance and be among the first to receive them in an exclusive Caviar edition.
